The community is rallying around a well-loved musician battling cancer.
Musicians from around the area, along with good friends, gathered at AP's Hidden Hideaway in Macon Saturday.
They are raising money for Michael Ventimiglia, better known as Big Mike, the leader of Big Mike and the Booty Papas.
Doctors diagnosed him with skin cancer. He has undergone an operation, but since he's self employed, Big Mike doesn't have insurance.
That's where the community is stepping in to help.
"It blows my mind how many people are showing love for me today. The devil don't have a chance. There's so much love in this building, and that's a beautiful, beautiful thing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," Big Mike said.
You can buy some great food and listen to some great music this weekend.
The fundraiser continues Saturday night until 2 a.m. and then the fun starts up again Sunday at 11 in the morning at AP's Hidden Hideaway located at 4274 Broadway in Macon.
