HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Four people jumped into the water after a fire erupted on a boat in Hall County on Sunday afternoon, fire officials said.

According to Hall County Fire Rescue, firefighters were dispatched to a boat fire at Balus Creek Park shortly after 4:30 p.m. Before they arrived, four boaters jumped into the water and swam to safety away from the flames. One received minor injuries and was treated at the scene, according to a release.

The Marine Rescue team arrived at the area and tethered the fully involved ski boat -- pulling it closer to the shore to allow for the fire to be put out. The small boat was almost fully extinguished by the time it reached land, according to a release. Crews ensured the flames were put out before leaving the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office, according to a release.
