Forsyth woman arrested after breaking into Macon church

When deputies arrived, Quida Childress was trying to exit the church through a window

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Forsyth woman for breaking into a church on Sunday morning.  

According to a release from the office, deputies responded to a burglary in progress at Ross Temple Baptist Church on Berkner Avenue just after 8 a.m.

When they arrived, 37-year-old Quida Childress was trying exit the church through a window.

The release says she entered the church through a door in the Fellowship Hall. Church members noticed the open door and called police.

Childress damaged some of the furniture in the hall, according to the release.

She was taken to the Bibb County Jail and is being held on $11,200 bond. She is charged with burglary and criminal trespass.
