Forsyth cemetery brings back the dead to shed some light on county's history

The journey will include history of 14 people including an educator, a sheriff, a women's activist and more.

Spirits will rise from the dead to shed some light on Monroe County's history.

The Monroe County Historical Society will be giving a cemetery tour Saturday morning.

On the tour, you'll learn about famous people from Monroe County who've affected its history.

The journey will include history of 14 people including an educator, a sheriff, a women's activist, and more.

Each character will be reenacted by actors from the Back Lot Players.

Ralph Bass, President of the Monroe County Historical Society, says one of them really piqued his interest.

"We have a physician who devised a technique for healing burns and it is still used, as I understand, in Germany today," he says.

Tours will be at the Forsyth City Cemetery off Newton Memorial Drive on Saturday.

The first tour is at 10 in the morning and tours will be every 15 minutes.

The last tour is at 10:45 a.m.
