DUBLIN, Ga. — The former executive director of the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin has been arrested and faces several charges, including child molestation.
That's according to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
They say deputies were called to Fairview Park Hospital Monday for a possible child molestation case. Deputies identified Manuel Davila as the suspect, the sheriff's office says.
He was arrested and charged with four counts of child molestation, cruelty to children in the 1st degree and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
The Department of Veterans Affairs named Davila as executive medical center director for the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin in January 2022.
Before that, he served as the Associate Director for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System in New Orleans, Louisiana and as an Associate Director at the West Texas VA Health Care System in Big Spring, Texas.
He was reassigned to a regional VA office in late January 2024, and he officially resigned from the VA on March 4, according to a spokesperson with the Dublin VA.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is still active and ongoing. If anyone has information regarding this case they can reach out to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office investigations division at 478-272-1522.
