It was beautiful weather for folks to shop and stop at the Whistle Stop Café.

JULIETTE, Ga. — Folks in Juliette gathered on Saturday to celebrate the 1990's movie that put their town on the map...Fried Green Tomatoes!

Starring Kathy Bates and Jessica Tandy, the film came out in 1991 and featured the story of a housewife who longs for more out of her life, and befriends an old woman at a nursing home who tells her tales of people she used to know.

It was filmed in Juliette and surrounding areas, at several notable locations including Agnes Scott College, Avalon Health & Rehabilitation, Conyers, Fayetteville, Juliette Dam, Juliette United Methodist Church, Newnan, Whitesburg, Zebulon, and of course, The Whistle Stop Café.

People stopped by the café to celebrate at the 18th annual Fried Green Tomatoes festival, which included several arts and vendor booths, food stands, live music, and more.

It was beautiful weather for folks to shop and grab some food and drinks from the café.

If you still want to go to the festival, no worries! It is happening October 29 as well, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
