Family and friends remember man killed in motorcycle crash in Macon

The G- Ryderz will honor Poole at a community party May 4th from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. They say proceeds will help them with their community events.

MACON, Ga. — For 16 years, Lorenzo Poole was known around town as C-Poole. He was a member and later President of the G-Ryderz Motorcycle Club.

"He's a daredevil. He was ready for whatever, he was ready to ride. It was his passion," Felicia Corbin said.

Corbin is Poole's daughter and says he was a provider.

"Great Father, great papa, he was," Corbin and her sister said.

If you add any word behind great, that's what they say Poole was. They say he was a great business owner, a great man, but they wouldn't say he had a great memory.

"I can see him now, forgetting his cell phone and his keys from the back of the house. He used to forget things every morning. Every morning," Corbin said.

He was a great inspiration, he was part of the reason Corbin opened her events center, Pearl's Venue, almost a year ago.

"[He] motivated us, told us to go for our own, just pushing us," Corbin shared.

Gregory Hunter, also known as Infamous, says the same treatment was given to his 30 riding brothers.

"It could be a long conversation. It could be something short. Small interactions lead up to big memories," Hunter said.

The organization stands on the principles of following God and supporting family. So Poole and the group were always looking for ways to support the community.

"To just have unity, not just in the bike set, but in the city alone," Hunter said.

Through that Hunter says Poole was the perfect role model.

"He was a prime example of what fathers, of what men in the community should be," he said.

Poole was always looking out for others, through school coat drives, backpack and Thanksgiving giveaways, and more. However, on the second Sunday in April, a driver wasn't looking out for him.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says it happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Sherry Drive.

They say a Chevy Malibu and a motorcycle crashed at the intersection. The motorcycle driver, Poole, later died at the hospital.

It's a problem Hunter and the other Ryderz say is common on the roads.

"When they leave, we want them to come back. This is fun.  This is fun. Just watch out. We want them to come back home. We want them to come back home," she shared.

There is still an ongoing investigation into the crash, and the family is asking that you reach out to the Bibb  County Sheriff's Office if you saw anything from the accident.

The G- Ryderz will honor Poole at a community party on May 4 from 8 p.m. to midnight. They say proceeds will help them with their community events.

It's happening at the Macon Banquet Center on Bloomfield Village Drive.
