Friends and family celebrated Veronique Reaves' birthday, just weeks after she was shot and killed while driving on a Baldwin County road.
Thursday would have been Reaves' 37th birthday, but instead of a party, the family released purple balloons in her memory.
Analdo Reaves, Veronique's husband, says they have not received a lot of information on the investigation into his wife's death. He says they were usually together for her birthday, so this one was tough.
"This is the first one of either one of our birthdays that we got to deal with, without the other one being here, so that's the emotional part, but she wanted to have a gathering for her birthday this year," said Reaves.
The family plans to hold a march for Veronique on December 14 in Milledgeville.
