On Monday morning, the Bibb County Sheriff’s office says one burglar shot another inside of an East Macon home.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says the man that died was 41-year-old James Robert Young.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Young has been in the Bibb County Jail 35 times -- six of those were for burglary.
The State Public Corrections website says Young was in prison for burglary for four years until August 2016.
Dexter Miller lives in the neighborhood and says it is usually pretty calm.
“Kids, children, you know walking around playing in the streets,” said Miller.
That is why Miller says he was surprised when he heard a burglary led to a shooting just a few houses away.
“It's shocking to everyone in the neighborhood, but I just didn't understand. Why here?” said Miller.
Miller says he learned a lesson from the burglary, and he will start taking extra precaution.
The Sheriff's Office says they are still looking for the other burglar.
They are asking for anyone with information to call the Sheriff's Office or Crimestopers at 1-877-68CRIME.
