Downtown Dublin CBD business gets broken into twice in two weeks

According to Dublin Police incident reports the store loss over $5,000 from the two burglaries.

DUBLIN, Ga. — In downtown Dublin, one small business is trying to recover from being broken into twice in two weeks.

The CBD Source on West Jackson Street sells hemp and CBD products.

In January, we covered a CBD store in Centerville that was also broken into. They lost thousands of dollars in cannabis products.

The store in Dublin has a splintered door to show for their break-ins on Feb. 13 and March 1. Owner Joseph Loadholt said that both times left him confused.

"Kind of an odd burglary because he only went after certain products. No money, nothing else. It was just an oddball thing," Loadholt said.

Loadholt said the person came after one main thing: more than a dozen jars of loose cannabis flowers, and prepackaged cannabis flowers.

According to Dublin Police incident reports the loss from the two burglaries is $5,033.

Loadholt has security cameras in his store, and he shared these pictures with Dublin Police.

"When I saw the video the first time, and was able to see the face and the movements I could instantly verify who it was because he had been in, in the exact same clothes," Loadholt said.

He thinks it was the same person both times, because of their height and facial features. Both times, the person who broke in left behind the object they used to break in, at the same place in the store.

On Monday night and early Tuesday morning, Loadholt said his cameras picked up someone from Dublin Police Department coming by his business and checking on it about once an hour.

"I'm appreciative of that. But it was like it took two weeks and two burglaries, set from the same guy to get to that," Loadholt said.

He said he'd like to see more patrols at night downtown, not just during the day.

Dublin Police Mjr. Eric Roland said despite being short staffed, they always have two officers at night whose patrol areas include downtown. They also have an officer patrolling downtown Dublin from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

"I know they're short staffed but I don't know. I mean, I feel, I felt safer last night you know, for the first time in two weeks," he said.

Loadholt is offering a personal cash reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the person who broke into his store.
