Murder, drugs and racketeering | 11 suspected gang members charged in Laurens County crackdown

The Georgia Attorney General's Office indicted 11 people believed to be members of the "Money Power Loyalty" gang.

DUBLIN, Ga. — The Georgia Attorney General's Office indicted 11 people from Dublin for allegedly being part of the "Money Power Loyalty" criminal street gang based in Laurens County, the office said in a media release.

The 11 alleged members ranging from 20 to 26 years old are believed to have "conspired together" between Feb. 1, 2016, and Jan. 11, 2024, in a range of criminal activities, ranging from dealing drugs to murder, the release said.

"The enterprise Money Power Loyalty seeks to obtain exactly what its name implies Money, Power and unwavering Loyalty from its associated. Money Power Loyalty does not seek these three goals through legitimate means," the 114-count indictment read.

One member, 23-year-old Jamil "Slime" Thompkins, is charged in the July 12, 2020, shooting death of Travis Plummer. According to previous reporting, the shooting happened at the Friendly Gus gas station on Central Drive in East Dublin.

Thompkins faces one charge of murder, two counts of felony murder, eight counts of aggravated assault and a slew of other charges as well, the release said.

The attorney general's office says all 11 people indicted are also charged with racketeering, a broad law where prosecutors make the case that a person conspired to further an illegal conspiracy.

The indictment says the gang banded together to illegally obtain guns, drugs and money. They are accused of doing this through committing burglaries, robberies, thefts along with the sale and distribution of drugs.

They also are accused of seeking to build the power and reputation of the "Money Power Loyalty" gang, sometimes through the threat of violence against gang rivals and other times through social media "videos promoting its size, profitability, and readiness to engage in acts of violence," the indictment read.

But beyond their larger criminal conspiracy, the indictment also charges a number of suspected members of other serious crimes, ranging from shootings to robberies to drug dealing.

Four others — Askiri "Glizzy" Lewis, Jayqwan "Settripz" Stephens, Keoctavious "Jaxkboy" Devoe and Lequayvion "MPL Silent"/"1482 Silent" Stuckey — were charged in connection to an April 20, 2021, drive-by shooting.

They are accused of shooting at a home with 12 people in it, including nine children, the press release said.

Another accused member, 21-year-old Gregory "7eventimez" Floyd, is charged with a shooting at the Hop-In gas station.

The gang is considered a "hybrid street gang." According to the U.S. Department of Justice, that is a gang composed of individuals of various races and ethnicities unified by vague rules and code of conduct.

The gang was founded by 26-year-old Gerez Duty, who was known on the street as "OG Duty" and "20Gauge," the attorney general's office believes.

They say that their associates "typically align themselves with the 1831 Pirus and Rollin' 20 Neighborhood Bloods, both of which are traditional West Coast Blood sets," the release said.

All of the 11 people indicted are from Dublin. They include:

  • Jamil Thompkins (also known as “Slime”), 23, of Dublin
