A drone was observed by a Perimeter Officer at Macon State Prison Thursday afternoon, according to a Georgia Department of Corrections Facebook post, .
The drone was flying above the prison grounds when the officer saw it crash to the ground. The officer got out of his vehicle and contained it.
A search was conducted by Institutional Investigator, and contraband was discovered attached to the drone.
The contraband consisted of three cellular phones wrapped in black cloth.
Both the contraband and drone were confiscated.
