MACON, Ga. — As the Georgia National Fair continues on in Perry, downtown Macon is looking to get in on the fun.
Over 20 restaurants are participating in the Fair Food Frenzy, an event in honor of the fair's arrival in Houston County. Participating restaurants include:

- Macon Water Ice

- Reboot Retrocade & Bar
- The Rookery
- Satterfield's
- Satterfield's BBQ
- Sweet Eleanor's
- Taste and See Coffee Shop
- The Brick
- Yay Beignet.
These restaurants are offering various fair-themed food and drink specials, like deep-fried Oreos, from Friday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 6.
The event is hosted by NewTown Macon, which has hosted the food frenzy since 2020. They started the event to not only support the local restaurants in the area but also give Central Georgians a taste of the fair amid the pandemic.
"Downtown Macon is a dining destination for our region and state with 56 restaurants that are all locally owned and operated," said Emily Hopkins, Vice President of External Affairs and Main Street Manager at NewTown Macon. "Events like our annual Fair Food Frenzy help showcase our dining scene and give our restaurateurs and chefs an opportunity to flex their creative culinary muscles. We encourage you to visit your favorite participating restaurant or try one you've never visited before this weekend!"
