MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — The Deep Roots Festival celebrated 20 years of music and Community Spirit on Saturday.
Families celebrated with live entertainment, arts and crafts, food, music, and more.
The music was headlined by Blues Traveler, but the festival wasn't just about music. The release for the event said it was about "a vibrant community coming together to celebrate."
There was an antique car show, dance performances, a kidzone for family friendly activities, an artist market, food trucks, and much more.
There was even a steak cookoff! Grillmasters competed for over $3,000 in prizes.
As the sun set, there was an evening concert series featuring Richard Mattin, Vanessa Collier, and Blues traveler.
The festival began in 2003, and is organized by the Milledgeville Main Street Organization. It has become a cherished annual event, and shares the culture and community of Milledgeville.
