Deano's Italian Grille in downtown Dublin has received national recognition on several occasions, and the staple in downtown Dublin is still going strong.

The restaurant was voted number one in the state of Georgia for it's brick oven pizza in USA Today in 2010, according to catering manager Jennifer Thomas. In 2013, it was recognized as "Pizza Worth a Detour" in the USA Travel Guide.

The already award-winning pizza landed the restaurant in Paula Deen's magazine as one of the "Top 10 Pizza Hot Spots" in 2014. In 2016, Southern Living magazine recognized the restaurant for it's shrimp and grits dish.

Deano's Italian has received recognition in other outlets as well including Georgia Eats for 100 Plates Locals Love.

Thomas says the restaurant opened in 2008, but the current menu was established by it's current co-owners Rob and Jennifer Shaffer.

"They incorporated a lot of our brick oven items that we didn't have before, such as chicken marsala, which is our number one seller," she said.

Aside from the food, Thomas mentioned the restaurant has a family-friendly environment.

"Everybody works together," she added. "Our servers are great; our hostesses are amazing."
