CORDELE, Ga. — A Cordele man is in custody on drug charges, according to the Crisp County Sheriff's Office.
On Monday the Crisp County Special Response Team (SRT) and Mid-South Narcotics Task Force (MSNTF) searched homes in the 700 block of 14th Street in South Cordele and the 200 block of 11th Street South Cordele.
During the search, they found multiple clear plastic bags containing a white powdery substance, multiple pre-packaged bags containing suspected marijuana, digital scales, packaging material, bottles of suspected promethazine, a suspected psilocybin chocolate bar, multiple firearms, and cash.
36-year-old Sherrod Savage was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana, one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, two counts of sale/distribution/possession of dangerous drugs, three counts of possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession/manufacture/distribution of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school, two counts of manufacturing/possession of controlled substance within 1000 feet of housing project, and possession of tools for commission of a crime.
According to the release, additional charges are pending.
