CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ga. — Officials at Crawford County Middle High School have addressed a rumor circulating about a possible school shooting on Friday.
According to a release posted on the school's website, Superintendent Christopher Ridley says the school is working with law enforcement to investigate the rumor and have not found any evidence pointing to an actual threat.
Ridley says there will be an increased law enforcement presence at the school on Friday.
"Our district takes the responsibility of the safety of our students and staff very seriously. Our goal is to be as transparent as possible where your children are involved," Ridley said in the post.
The release advises parents to call the school at 478-836-3126 with any questions or concerns.
