Cordele woman found dead in home after fire

CORDELE, Ga. — Cordele police are investigating a house fire that left a woman dead Tuesday evening.

According to a news release from the Cordele Police Department, police got the call about a house fire at 310 West 17th Avenue just before 5 p.m. Tuesday. When they made it to the scene, they found 46-year-old Laleria Johnson dead inside the home.

The release says police and the fire marshal are still investigating and will perform an autopsy.
