Contestants race in Magnolia Soap Box Derby at Washington Park in Macon

The annual race had action, food, beer, and live music from DJ's.

MACON, Ga. — Lots of people got to watch exciting races at Washington park Saturday morning, all part of the Magnolia Soap Box Derby.

Lots of families and contestants came from all over Georgia to see the action.

In addition to races, there was also live music from DJ's, a performance by StreetLine Drum Corps., and lots of vendors.

People could visit food booths and get a cold beer in between races, and bring their blankets or lawn chairs to have a picnic in the park.

Lots of cheers erupted as different cars raced to the finish line, with some de-railing into the hay bales lining the racetrack.

It was the 14th annual derby, and lasted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
