Concert for Carolina charity auction aiming to help raise more funds for Helene aid

Proceeds earned will go to charities helping people in western North Carolina hit by the hurricane.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After the Concert for Carolina saw thousands of music fans fill Bank of America Stadium to aid in Helene relief, an auction featuring stage-used items and sports fan experiences aims to continue the efforts to help.

The auction is run by the collectibles platform Goldin. Among the items up for auction are Luke Combs' guitar from when he played "When It Rains It Pours" on stage and even the shirt he wore. Both items are signed. Other auction items include a Hornets VIP fan experience, a signed Deebo Samuel Sr. away jersey from the San Francisco 49ers, a signed and inscribed Julius Peppers 2003 throwback jersey from the Carolina Panthers, and even 1 million American Airlines AAdvantage Miles.

Bidding for the auction is live now and runs until Nov. 12, 2024, at 10 p.m. Items that get more than one bid before that time will remain open for 30 additional minutes, and the timer resets to 30 minutes with each new bid until it expires with no new bids.

All proceeds earned from the auction will go to select charities, including Samaritan's Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, Eblen Charities, and organizations supported by Chief Cares.

The Concert for Carolina was one way people in the Carolinas were able to raise funds to help with Helene recovery in the western part of North Carolina. The hurricane tore through the region in late September, devastating neighbors with flooding and widespread power outages. Private charities, state and federal agencies, businesses and individual citizens and groups have offered helping hands in a variety of ways in the wake of the storm.
