FORSYTH, Ga. — On Saturday, the city of Forsyth welcomed home 2 time Super Bowl champion and Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Malik Herring.
Herring hails from Monroe County, and played high school football with the Mary Persons Bulldogs.
He was celebrated in downtown Forsyth with a parade, which started at city hall and wound its way around town to Ingram Field.
There, they had a pep rally for Herring, and invited him and his family onstage for a presentation in his honor.
Lots of folks came out dressed head to toe in their Chiefs gear to support Malik and his family.
Herring has been eager to be back in the community since the win, and on Friday was just at the Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital to visit with patients and their families.
There, he gave away signed balls, let them hold his super bowl ring, and posed for pictures with them.
