9-year-old child killed after being run over by 'heavy machinery' in Houston County, coroner said

They say it happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

BONAIRE, Ga. — A 9-year-old child was killed after being run over by a piece of heavy machinery, according to Houston County Coroner James Williams.

It happened Monday evening at around 5:30 p.m. off of Thompson Mill Road in Bonaire. That is in the Riverbend North Subdivision. 

The child was pronounced dead on the scene by Williams.

According to Williams, the Houston County Sheriff's Office is investigating the circumstances around the child's death.

At this time, there is no additional information available. We will provide updates when they become available.
