Car show held in WR in honor of Sgt. Patrick Sondron

In his memory, his son, Jacob Sondron organized a car show to raise money for the Concerns of Police Survivors organization, also known as COPS.

It's been nearly two years since Patrick Sondron was shot and killed while responding to a dispute among neighbors.

In his memory, his son, Jacob Sondron organized a car show to raise money for the Concerns of Police Survivors organization, also known as COPS.

It helps family who lose loved ones in the line of duty. One hundred and thirty five cars competed in the car show contest for prizes and trophies. Around 200 people enjoyed the car show, food trucks and music.

A memorial for officers lost in the line of duty was on display for visitors as well.

Jacob Sondron says he couldn't have picked a better way to carry on his dad's memory.

"My dad and I we went to car shows all the time when I was growing up, and he showed his, and washed it up together and took it out and won some trophies. So taking his passion and being able to incorporate that into helping others, I mean nothing beats it. "

Sondron wants the car show to take place each year to help other families that lost a loved one in the line of duty.
