'We have something for everyone': Brick Brigade opens in downtown Forsyth

The store sells Legos and Cobi blocks, and lots of families came out to their grand opening Friday morning to grab some sets.

FORSYTH, Ga. — A new store in Forsyth is "building" community relationships... and is sure to be the coolest shop on the "block."

Brick Brigade is middle Georgia's largest reseller of Legos and Cobi blocks.

They had their grand opening on Friday and lots of families came out to grab some sets.

Along with branded builds like Harry Potter, Lego Batman, and Disney, they have a touch table of bricks you can sift through to build your own projects!

Several people grabbed buckets and got to work looking through the Lego bricks to pick out ones to take home.

There's also a race track in the back where kids can watch Lego cars zoom across the finish line.

Owner Tina Davis says no matter what your age or ability, they have options for you.

"You know, all different genres and sets that they can choose from, so you can go from the smallest of sets to an 8,000-piece set if you really wanted to. So we've got something for everybody here," she said.

Davis said adults have just as much fun in the store as the kids, and there will be several opportunities for 'build and sip' nights along with other events.

"We probably have more adults than kids that come into the store, and I love seeing that," Davis recalled.

When asked about why she chose to bring this kind of store to the Forsyth community, Davis said she

"A lot of different reasons - number one being the kids and the families. That is one thing i love seeing, you know, all the families coming in with their kids, coming in and building together and it bringing them together," she said.

As I walked around the store, several families picked out sets to buy. When they checked out at the register the workers made sure to tell them that when they finished building their pieces, they could send in pictures of the completed projects for the store's Facebook page.

It was clear the staff and owners were very passionate about bringing people together with a build.

"Enjoy that build. Enjoy that moment, because a lot of people don't get that time to just enjoy," Davis said.

If you want to get creative sometime soon, you can find Brick Brigade at 17 N Lee Street in downtown Forsyth.
