HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — Editors Note: The video in this story is from previous coverage of the Tara Grinstead case.
Houston County prosecutors have closed the books on rape charges against Bo Dukes from 7 years ago.
He's the Irwin County man now serving 25 years for hiding Tara Grinstead's body in 2005.
The Houston County charges are not related to the Grinstead case but three women claimed that Dukes threatened them and raped them in 2017 and 2019.
Court records say Dukes pleaded guilty last month to three charges including aggravated assault with an attempt to rape and a weapons charge.
As part of the deal, prosecutors dropped more than a dozen other charges, including rape, sodomy, kidnapping and aggravated assault.
District Attorney William Kendall says Dukes will serve his 10-year prison sentence at the same time as his current term.
That means the deal doesn't add any additional prison time.
He says his office consulted Dukes' alleged victims and they agreed to the plea deal.
Dukes still faces more charges in Ben Hill County connected to the death of Tara Grinstead.
She's the Ocilla High School teacher whose body was finally discovered in 2017; 12 years after she went missing.
