Keith Stellman, meteorologist in charge at the National Weather Service declared stormed damage in Eastman was caused by an EF-zero tornado.
He says based on pictures he took and observations he made at the Heart of Georgia Nursing Home, a CVS downtown and damage throughout Dodge County the tornado was a rare anti-cyclonic tornado.
Stellman says he's worked on more than 200 storms and that this is only the second one of this kind he's seen in his career.
"Maybe 1 in 100 tornadoes...very,very rare. It's a very unstable thing. Tornadoes....they want to be stable. This was unstable. In order to be a stable they have to spin cyconically," Stellman said.
He also said winds got as high as 80 miles an hour, but the tornado only stayed on the ground for about five minutes.
Dodge County EMA Director Stanley Stephens says he will turn that information over to insurance companies.
