MACON, Ga. — Deputies arrested a man and charged him in connection to a double homicide that happened on Morris Avenue in Macon on Thursday.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Investigators charged 30-year-old Deon Banks with the deaths of of 61-year-old Milton Jolly and 41-year-old George Brooks according to a press release.
They say Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies received a tip that Banks was in the parking lot of a gas station at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Ingleside Avenue.
He didn't resist arrest and was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
He is held without bond on charges of two counts of murder, possession of a firearm, rape, false imprisonment, and four counts of aggravated assault.
Banks also has a felony probation violation.
When deputies arrived they found Brooks shot and unconscious in the bathroom.
A woman in the home told deputies that Banks kicked down the door of the home and held everyone inside at gunpoint.
She says Banks raped her and pistol whipped another person inside the home. She told deputies she thinks Banks heard someone trying to run, chased after them and began shooting.
Banks came back into the home and told her and the other person to stay in the bedroom and not move.
She says when she didn't hear anything, she assumed Banks left and went onto the porch.
Deputies later found Milton shot in some bushes outside the home.
