MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has arrested several people after implementing 'Operation Clean House.'
In a release, they said on Thursday they began the operation, with "four teams strategically execut[ing] several arrest warrants in targeted locations to apprehend the Department of Community Supervision’s top gang members in Bibb County."
They said the Special Response Team, Department of Community Supervision, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Gang Task Force, and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force helped them carry out the operation.
During the operation, seven were taken into custody. Deputies also recovered three guns, one of which was stolen. They also found several ounces of marijuana and grams of cocaine.
They say the operation was executed without incident.
The following people were arrested during the operation:
Jawarren James Balkcom (26)
- Probation Violation (Robbery by Force)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Charles Antonio Balthrop (36)
- Probation Violation (Robbery by Intimidation)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
- Trafficking Cocaine
- Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
- Theft by Receiving Stolen Property
Demartez Lashawn Little (27)
- Probation Violation (Aggravated Assault)
- Probation Violation (Criminal Street Gang Activity)
Santez Deshawn Mattox (24)
- Probation Violation (Robbery by Force)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Three others were arrested, all for probation violations.
The Sheriff's Office says all were wanted in Bibb County for Violation of Probation. Additional Charges are listed and pending.
They also said each person was a suspected gang member, all from various gangs.
All arrested are in custody at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and currently do not have a bond.
