MACON, Ga. — Monday, the Bibb County Sheriff's outreach division took to the classroom to help teen drivers.
Bibb Sheriff's outreach section gives the public an opportunity to take free defensive driving courses in July and the class goes for three days.
The first two days, teens spend time in the classroom, and on the last day, teens get an opportunity to spend time on driving simulators.
To be eligible to attend, you must be 16 to 20 years old, and provide a copy of your driver's license. The class is designed to help teenagers make good, sound decisions while they are driving.
Corporal Emmett Bivins says this is about keeping the teens and other drivers safe on the road.
"We want them to be a courteous driver and we want them to not only to be safe, but drive in defense, drive for everyone else, not just you, to keep yourself others and all your children safe and just to keep the public safe, in a nutshell," Bivins said.
The next class starts July 15 at 2525 Pio Nono Avenue.
