'I'm never going to stop.' | Father continues fight for justice in daughter's death five years after her disappearance

November 10, marks five years since Eddie Gonzales last spoke with his daughter Meagan. Weeks later, her body was found burned in a field in southwest Bexar County.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — November 10 marks five years since Meagan Gonzales went missing after last speaking to her father at their west-side home.

Just weeks later, on December 3 2019, her body was found dumped and burned in far southwest Bexar County.

Her family, still searching for answers, continued their fight for justice Sunday afternoon.

"It's terrible. This event is not easy for me," said Eddie Gonzales, Meagan's father.

For Eddie, November 10 is a reminder that comes with both good memories and great sadness.

"I was thinking that's the last day we were talking five years ago and what we talked about. I was imagining her being there and then we were talking just like old times," said Gonzales.

November 10 was the last time Eddie would talk with Meagan. Weeks later, a farmer found her body burned in a field on Wisdom Road, between Macdona-Lacoste Road and Old Frio City Road.

This year there have been some developments in her case.

A sketch was released of a man seen driving Meagan's truck days after she went missing.

An AI Image of Meagan telling her story was also released in an effort to find new leads and Crime Stoppers put up a reward in the case, but her murder remains unsolved.

With the help of the local nonprofit Search & Support San Antonio, Meagan's family held an outreach event where they handed out fliers and water bottles with Meagan's picture.

"It's important because we won't forget Meagan and we are still looking for justice for Meagan and we are here to support her family and they deserve justice," said Lori Whittmeyer, Intake Case Manager with Search & Support San Antonio.

Organizers of the outreach event say they want to keep reminding the public of Meagan's story in hopes someone will come forward with the missing puzzle piece that could crack this case wide open and bring Eddie Gonzales closure this holiday season.

"I really wish I could hear that and hopefully I will get that for Christmas, a good Christmas present there. I'm never going to stop. I'm going to keep on and keep on until we get the responsible people and justice for my daughter," said Gonzales.

If you know anything about Meagan Gonzales' case, Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and remember you can remain anonymous.
