Autopsy provides new details after man found dead in embankment off of I-75, investigation on-going

After an Alabama man was found dead off I-75 north in Crawford County, his body was sent to the GBI Crime lab for an autopsy.

CRAWFORD, Ga. — A truck driver was sitting in traffic on I-75 when he looked out the window and saw a dead body in an embankment on the side of the road.

That happened on Oct. 19 at around 5:49 p.m. in the small section of I-75 northbound in Crawford County.

Now, we are learning new details about the man's condition after he was taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.

A 42-year-old Alabama man, Terlonzo Elwond Martin of Huntsville, was found dead in an embankment off the interstate. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said that it appeared Martin could have been in there for some time.

His body was found between the Bibb County and Peach County line.

The Crawford County Sheriff's Office says that Martin's autopsy showed "no sign of trauma to the body" but they are waiting for a toxicology report to see if that provides more details about any substances in Martin's system.

In the press release, the sheriff's office says that Martin had been living in a facility in Valdosta Georgia for "a couple of months." The release does not explicitly say what kind of facility Martin was at.
