ATLANTA β€” The son of an Atlanta Police officer who passed away from a medical emergency on Thursday night took to social media to pay tribute to his late father.

On Friday, Benjamin took to X to honor his dad by saying that he will continue to make him proud.

Atlanta Police said that Kenya Galloway was currently assigned to the Executive Protection Unit and that he was on his way to work when he was found unresponsive due to a medical emergency. Police said he was found near the Atlanta Public Safety Annex Building.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum was there a little after midnight with other officers. Georgia State Police Department and other agencies were also seen at the hospital in support of the officer.

Benjamin Galloway played his high school football at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs. The photo below on the left was taken of the two when Benjamin signed to play college football with the Yellow Jackets back in December 2022.
