A Hawkinsville grocery store is set to reopen after a fire gutted it last fall.
Harris Kuntry Meats and Grocery employee Camey Pace said Monday that the business plans to open again on Saturday, June 16.
The cause of September’s fire was never revealed by investigators, but it gutted the 70-year-old building leaving behind a pile of debris and the façade of the store.
At the time, Pulaski County Fire Chief Leslie Sewell told WMAZ the flames were coming out of the top of the building, so there was very little they could do to prevent it from becoming a total loss.
WMAZ’s Mary Grace Shaw will have more from the business owners and their plans to reopen on 13WMAZ News at 5 and 6.
