65-year-old man dies following house fire at a Macon home

The man was the only person home at the time of the fire.

MACON, Ga. — A 65-year-old man died in a house fire overnight in Macon, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. It happened at a home on Lincoln Avenue near Walnut Street in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood.

Bernard Taylor was trapped inside the home. No one else was inside the home at the time of the fire. Jones says investigators suspect the cause of the fire was electrical.

Taylor was pronounced dead just after midnight.
