Bibb deputies arrest 4 teens after Macon Academy Sports burglary

One 13-year old boy and three 14-year-old boys were taken to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center.

MACON, Ga. — Four teens are facing burglary charges after Bibb deputies arrested them in connection to a Saturday Academy Sports burglary.

According to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a ringing burglar alarm at the Academy Sports at 1689 Eisenhower Parkway around midnight.

When deputies got there, two boys ran away from the store, but deputies got a hold of them and they were arrested. The other two teens were arrested inside the store.

The release says it was reported that four boys busted the store's front glass door, went inside, then took six airsoft guns, two bottles of BB's, and one box of CO2 cartridges.

The release says the teens tried to take guns, but were not successful.

One 13-year old boy and three 14-year-old boys were taken to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center. They are charged with of seven counts of obstruction, burglary, and criminal damage to property.

The stolen items were returned to the store.
