MACON, Ga. — The 30th annual Reindeer Run and Santa Stroll for Atrium Navicent Children's Hospital will take off in Macon on Saturday, December 3 at 8:30 a.m.
People can start and finish the run or walk at 700 Spring Street in Macon.
You can register for the event in advance at the Navicent Health Foundation website until December 2 or on the day of the race from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m..
Advance registration fees costs $30 for the 5K Reindeer Run, $20 for the 1 Mile Santa Stroll, and $28 for the Phantom Run.
Then, race day fees cost $35 for the 5K Run and $25 for the Santa Stroll.
The registration fees are non-refundable and if the event gets cancelled the fees will be donated to the Children's Hospital.
Folks who run in the 5K race can win awards for Top 3 Overall that includes 1st Master, Grand Master and Great Grand Master.
Other awards are given to people from 15 age groups starting from 10 and under through 80 and over.
Ellen Johnson is the CEO of the Atrium Health Foundation. She says the event focuses on building a bond between patients and the community through the holidays.
Waffle House will be there to cook waffles for all the runners, and you can get a free t-shirt, too.
The hospital says they will give out shirts until they run out.
No pets, bikes, or roller blades allowed. Participants with strollers must start at the back.
There will be complimentary parking open on the Yellow Deck at 1014 Forsyth Street.
The 5K Reindeer Run and 1 mile Santa Stroll benefits the Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital at Atrium Health.
The donations can benefit hospital departments like the pediatric intensive care unit, babies in NICU and pediatric equipment for patients.
The Reindeer Run has fundraised more than $750,000 over the years to support the hospital's mission to "elevate health, hope and well-being for pediatric patients and their families."
