3 men arrested for multiple car break-ins in Monroe County

The break ins all happened around 4 subdivisions in Monroe County. A total of 12 vehicles were broken into.

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — Three men have been arrested on multiple charges after a string of car break ins in Monroe County.

According to a press release by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, 3 men were arrested by the Monroe Sheriff's Office and Bib Sheriff's Office for a string of car break-ins.

The break ins all happened around 4 subdivisions in Monroe County. The men were casing cars in the early morning around the subdivisions to find ones that were unlocked.

A total of 12 vehicles were broken into.

The release says the Monroe County Sheriff and Bibb Sheriffs had been sharing intelligence about recent car break ins when they noticed that they were very similar in how they were committed.

Based on previous events and evidence that was seized during the break-ins, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested Jaseon Cotton and Brandon Elijah Houser of Macon.

Both men were taken to the Monroe County Jail for multiple charges of Entering Automobiles with the intent to commit theft (Felony).

Another man, Dontavious Jalan Houser of Macon, was arrested by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office and a hold was placed on him for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

He is charged with multiple counts of Entering Automobiles with the intent to commit theft (Felony), Possession of firearm during the commission of a crime, Possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, Identity Theft and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
