3 arrested after west Macon high-speed chase

Someone inside the car threw a can of beer out of the window during the chase

MACON, Ga. — Three people are behind bars after a high-speed chase with Georgia State Patrol late Thursday night.

According to GSP, two troopers were on patrol when they saw a car fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Key Street and Mercer University Drive around 10:15 p.m.

When they tried to stop the car, the driver took off down the wrong side of the road. During the chase, GSP says someone threw a can of beer from the car.

The driver failed to stop at the stop sign located at the intersection of Ridgeland and Burton avenues, causing an accident with another car.

All three people inside were arrested and the driver was also charged with DUI. GSP says the driver had several warrants out for his arrest in Bibb County.

The identities of the three people were not immediately available because Georgia State Patrol’s system was down at the time 13WMAZ requested information.
