Stuff the Truck 2024: What you need to know

It's your chance to help people across Central Georgia this holiday season! Here's how.

MACON, Ga. —

What is Stuff the Truck?

Stuff the Truck is 13WMAZ's annual food collection drive in partnership with the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and help from Walmart.

When is Stuff the Truck?

You can donate non-perishable items at four different Walmart locations across Central Georgia from November 19-21.

Where can I donate items for Stuff the Truck?

Trucks will be parked in front of Walmart stores in different cities across Central Georgia from November 19-21. Check the schedule below to see what date/location works best for you:

Tuesday, November 19 - Milledgeville

Location: Walmart - 2592 N Columbia St

Time: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Wednesday, November 20 - Dublin

Location: Walmart - 2423 US-80 West

Time: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Thursday, November 21 - Macon and Warner Robins

Location: Walmart - 5955 Zebulon Rd

Location: Walmart - 2720 Watson Blvd

Time: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. (both locations)

What can I donate?

The best donations are non-perishable foods in original packaging, foods within the "best by" date marked on the package, and foods that are not in glass containers. Examples of great items to donate include: canned vegetables (low sodium preferred), canned fruits (no sugar added), canned meats, soups, stews, chili, cereal, breakfast bars, rice, pasta, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, seasonings.

Where do my Stuff the Truck donations go?

Your donations go to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank--or MGCFB. They've been operating since 1982 with the mission of providing equitable access to nutritious food with the help of community partners. The MGCFB serves 24 counties with a population of more than 716,000 people.

Why non-perishable items?

According to MGCFB, about 106,000 people (one in seven) and nearly 40,000 children (one in four) are considered food insecure in our community. The simple definition of food insecurity is a person who doesn't know where their next meal will come from. Many people to turn MGCFB and other organizations to get by. 13WMAZ and MGCFB want to help decrease those numbers and change lives in our community.

I can't make it but still want to help. What can I do?

You can help us fight hunger right now by making a monetary donation online. You can do that by clicking here. The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank says just $1 can provide eight meals.
