Karli Barnett joined the 13WMAZ team in June of 2014 as a Multimedia Journalist and began anchoring the Weekend News in September 2015.
Karli came to 13WMAZ after graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Digital and Broadcast Journalism and minors in Communication Studies and Spanish. She graduated summa cum laude as a Presidential Scholar and one of UGA's Outstanding Senior Leaders.
In college, she worked at the student-run news station, Grady Newsource, as a reporter, anchor, and videographer. In 2013 she interned at 11 Alive on the morning show, Atlanta and Company, and was a reporting intern for Fulton Government Television in Atlanta. During her last semester at school, Karli also served as a contributor to The Coca-Cola Company's international website "The Journey."
Karli has always had a natural curiosity and passion for learning. That, along with her love of writing and experience with film, is why she chose to be a reporter. When she is not out and about reporting, she loves traveling to new places, Disney movies, and baking Grandma's cupcakes.
