Hutchings College and Career Academy is inviting prospective students to see the programs they offer at an open house on Thursday evening.
The school is Bibb County's charter high school for career pathways including video production, healthcare, cosmetology and construction.
Banking and finance teacher Steve Neil says the school gives students a great opportunity to take advantage of programs their home high school doesn't offer while giving them a leg up in the job market.
"You're going to need something added extra to compete with everybody else in the workplace, and also to compete in college," said Neil, "we give them that added knowledge, we give them the added education, we give them the added skills to where they can be on the top of the heat when they go to compete against others for a job or compete against others in college."
The open house will be Thursday evening at the Hutchings campus on Riverside Drive from 5-8 p.m.
