MACON, Ga. — If you live in Central Georgia, you know there’s no shortage of locally owned restaurants with great dishes.
But more people are about to find that out now that seven local dishes are listed on the latest edition of Georgia Tourism’s ‘100 Plates’ list.
Nominations from around the state were collected on Explore Georgia’s site and social media platforms, and then evaluated by a panel of judges who narrowed the field down to 100.
Here are the seven from Central Georgia (in alphabetical order by city):
- Dublin – Brown Butter Sage Gnocchi at Ristorante da Maria at Dublin Farm
- Fort Valley – Ms. Caroline Lane’s Sweet Georgia Peach Cobbler at Lane Southern Orchards
- Juliette – Fried Green Tomato Salad at the Whistle Stop Café
- Macon – Cracked Pie at Dovetail
- Macon – Shrimp Burger at Kudzu
- Milledgeville – Eggs Benedict at the Local Yolkal Café
- Soperton – Sampler Plate at Boneyard BBQ
