Georgia College student shot three times during armed carjacking in Milledgeville

The victim is recovering in a regional hospital.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — An 18-year-old Georgia College and State University student was shot multiple times in Milledgeville on Monday. 

A Milledgeville Police Department news release says the 18-year-old man, Lawson Deloach, was shot in the 200 block of Barrows Ferry Road. 

Around 1 p.m., the suspect took Deloach's black 2012 Toyota Tundra and shot him three times. 

After the suspect took the car, he wrecked it nearby. 

A passerby saw the suspect running away and reported what they saw. 

Officers found the suspect in a wooded area off of Barrows Ferry Road and identified him as Maquavious Malike Hall, 19, from Milledgeville. 

Hall is charged with aggravated assault, motor vehicle hijacking and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime. 

As of Tuesday morning, the victim is recovering from his injuries in a hospital.
