One Central Georgia man is reflecting on the night Prince crashed his prom.
David Rozier was a senior attending Macon's First Presbyterian Day School's prom the night of April 26, 1980.
Rozier said after midnight, seniors returned to the ballroom for a breakfast.
While the students were eating, someone said, "Prince is in the lobby."
He says all of the students then rushed to the lobby to get autographs from Prince. Rozier and his date, Amelia, just happened to be last in line.
While talking to Prince, Rozier invited him to listen to the tunes of a local band while he and his date danced the night away.
Among the things he remembers, Rozier says Prince was quite the gentleman.
"He shook my hand and said, 'It was a pleasure meeting you all tonight,' opened the door for us, and said, 'Be safe, be careful,' something like that. But I still have the autograph to this day, and I guess he's the most famous person I've ever met in my life, you know, but I've always been a big fan. I don't know who's not," says Rozier.
Prince was in town that night performing as the opening act for Rick James' "Fire It Up" tour.
