Hillsborough County, FL - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are setting out traps Wednesday.
This is all an effort to catch the Tegu, a large, invasive species of lizard that is taking over the county.
The reptiles are originally from South America, but some people who bought them as pets set them free in local parks.
The Tegu lizard can grow up to four feet long, eat almost anything and they can swim. Tegus have been breeding in Hillsborough since 2006 laying 25 to 50 eggs at a time.
