The new trailer for the science-fiction thriller "The Fifth Wave" shows part of downtown Macon exploding on screen.
Filmmakers blew up a bus near the corner of Cotton Avenue and Second Street, causing thousands of dollars in damage to nearby buildings. Bibb County officials say they weren't warned about the explosion.
The blast appears at about 1:45 of the trailer and appears to show Cotton Avenue.
Film crews spent several days filming scenes in downtown Macon in January and exploded the bus on their final day in town, Jan. 11
The movie, which depicts the aftermath of an alien invasion, premieres Jan. 14, 2016.
