An execution date has been set for a man who was convicted of three 1998 murders out of Jones County.

An execution date has been set for a man who was convicted of three 1998 murders out of Jones County.

According to a news release from the Attorney General of Georgia's Office, Daniel Anthony Lucas will be put to death April 27th for the murders of 11-year-old Bryan Moss, 15-year-old Kristin Moss and their father, Steven Moss.

He will be executed at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson.

The release states Lucas and Brandon Joseph Rhode burglarized the home of Steven and Gerri Ann Moss twice on April 23, 1998. During the second burglary, he and Rhode shot the three family members to death.

Lucas was convicted and sentenced to death in 1999 of three counts of malice murder, three counts of felony murder, two counts of burglary and one count of kidnapping with bodily injury.

He will be the 42nd inmate to die of lethal injection in Georgia.

Rhode was executed in 2010.
