Woman indicted on murder charges in nearly 30-year-old Macon cold case

Sabrina Long was last seen in August 1991

MACON, Ga. — Nearly 30 years ago, Sabrina Long went missing. She was last seen at her home in Macon. 

Today, a former Macon woman was charged with murdering Long back in 1991.

A release from the Bibb District Attorney's Office says 46-year-old Melinda McSwain was indicted on murder charges by a grand jury.

Previously, she was charged with kidnapping Long in Oct. 2018.

The indictment alleges McSwain abducted Sabrina Long, held her against her will and that the kidnapping resulted in Long’s injury and death.

As far as McSwain and Long's relationship, they went to the same high school and investigators say they were friends at the time.
