WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. — Three people were arrested in Washington County in a contraband seizure on Thursday, according to a report from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The report says Jamal Frazier, 28, Chavis Poole, 25, and Lashundra Davis, 41, were all arrested while deputies were patrolling Davisboro, which is where Washington State Prison is located. Davis and Frazier are both from Lithonia, and Poole is a Macon resident.
During the seizure, they seized illegal drugs and other contraband, like cellphones and chargers, the three were allegedly trying to get into Washington State Prison
The sheriff's office says all three were charged with trading with inmates, crossing guard lines, possessing drugs with intent to distribute and racketeering.
They say all three are being held at the Washington County Jail.
This is the third time this week that deputies have stopped a contraband drop at Washington State Prison, according to the report.
“We are taking strong steps to secure the prison and ensure everyone’s safety,” Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran said in the report. “The criminal element needs to recognize that our efforts are serious and that we will continue to take action to shut down these illegal activities.”
