MACON, Ga. — Ronnie Hightower lost his aunt in a tragic car accident.
“How she was killed. I was very traumatized about that," Ronnie said.
In March 2023, Tracie was crossing Rocky Creek Road when she was hit by a car. She died alone because the driver didn’t stop and her husband, Alpha Hightower, said by the time he got to her, she was gone.
"When I zoomed down here I was over there by that church, and I seen her laying in the road I began to approach the street. You’re talking about fo fo needs to hold me back, because I mean I was just really about fell on out. I was having a fit because I couldn’t believe she was dead. Because last time I heard, she was on her way home," Alpha explained.
Alpha Hightower was Tracie’s husband and said their kids are struggling to live a life without their mom.
"My son. My older son. He can’t stop talking about her cause he wanna know why they haven’t arrested the person that killed his mama," Alpha said.
Tracie’s family is seeking justice for her death, hoping for some sort of peace in their family.
"Whoever did this needs to be brought to justice," Ronnie said. "You left these children without a mother…motherless. How would you feel if that happened to your family?"
This family is upset from losing Tracie, but Joel Hightower reminisced on the great person she was.
"She was just a fun person like that liked to joke and liked to hug. ‘Give me a hug brother-in-law’ I’d give her a hug and kiss her on the head," Joel said. "She was just that type of person. A fun person and everyone in the neighborhood loved her and they called her Ms. Bloomfield.”
Ronnie and the rest of Tracie’s family is begging for progress in her case before it’s moved to cold case files.
"We want the killer, whoever killed her brought to justice," Ronnie said. "We want the killer brought to justice!”
Tracie's family asks anyone with information regarding the March incident to contact the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 478-751-7500.
